Mushroom Sauce/ Substitute for Cream of Mushroom Soup

Trying to make some of your favorites can be hard when you can no longer eat Cream of Mushroom soup.  Imagine Brand Creamy Mushroom Soup can be used as a substitute.  But I would suggest making this simple sauce to use in place of the canned classic.

Recipe: Mushroom Sauce

Ingredients

  • 1/3 cup water
  • 1/4 cup soy\rice milk
  • 3 Tbsp coconut oil or non dairy butter 
  • 1/2 cup diced mushrooms
  • 3-4 Tbsp Rice flour Mix

Instructions

  1. Bring water, oil, and mushrooms to a low boil.
  2. Whisk together 1/4 cup dairy free milk and 3-4 tbsp flour.
  3. Whisk into boiling water mixture.
  4. Simmer until thickened.

Quick Notes

This is great recipe to double or triple and freeze for future use.
